SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong State University softball squad is on its way to Salem, Va., for the 2017 NCAA Division II Softball Championships, hosted at the James I. Moyer Complex by the City of Salem.
This is the fourth trip to the NCAA DII finals site, or the "World Series" for Armstrong State softball in the last five seasons. The Pirates first advanced to the DII Championships in 2013, going 2-2 in Salem, Va., and finishing as a national semifinalist. Armstrong State went 1-2 in 2014 in Salem, then last year went 3-2 as Denver, Colo., hosted the DII Championships as a part of the 2016 NCAA Division II Spring Sports Festival.
