Standhardinger Earns PBC Specialist Honors For Second Time

SAVANNAH, Ga. -
Armstrong Atlantic State freshman setter Kristin Standhardinger has been named
the PBC Volleyball Specialist of the Week for the second straight
week, announced today by league officials.
Standhardinger averaged 11.09 assists and 2.55 digs per set in leading the Pirates to a 2-1 weekend showing at the USCA Invitational. The freshman had 38 assists and nine digs in a 3-0 win over St. Andrews on Saturday morning, then had 59 assists - the most in a single match in the Peach Belt so far this season - to go with 13 digs and two blocks in a 3-2 win over Catawba on Saturday afternoon.
The Munich, Germany, native also added four total blocks, five kills and three aces on the weekend. She continues to lead the PBC in assists with 10.58 per set and is the first player in AASU history to earn back-to-back PBC Specialist of the Week honors since the league started the honor in 2004.
Standhardinger and the Pirates return to action this weekend, hosting the 2009 AASU/Chatham Orthopedics Volleyball Classic on Friday, September 11, with a 7:00 p.m. match against Wingate at Alumni Arena.
