Michele Remlinger Named PBC Volleyball Player of the Week


SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State senior middle hitter Michele Remlinger was named the Peach Belt Conference volleyball's Player of the Week, released Monday by league officials.

Remlinger hit .737 with 28 kills and no errors in 38 attempts in AASU's three wins on the week. She collected 11 kills and six blocks, while hitting a school-record .846 in the Pirates' 3-0 win over Lander on Friday, then hit .647 with 11 kills and 6 blocks in a 3-1 win over USC Aiken on Saturday.

The senior is hitting .649 in her last five matches and has not registered a hitting error in 46 straight attacks, a streak that dates back to Oct. 24. She currently ranks second in the Peach Belt in hitting percentage at .366, while also ranking fifth in blocks and 14th in kills per set.

It is the second PBC Player of the Week honor for Remlinger in her career - she was the league's weekly honoree on Sept. 22 of 2008.

Remlinger and the Pirates are next in action on Wednesday, November 4, with a 7:00 p.m. showdown with PBC leader Flagler in St. Augustine, Fla.
