Kristin Burton Earns PBC Player of the Week Honors

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State senior forward Kristin Burton has been named the Peach Belt Conference's women's soccer Player of the Week, announced early Wednesday by league officials.
Burton became the PBC's all-time leading goal scorer with a free kick goal in AASU's 2-2 draw with No. 21 Tusculum on Monday, then added her eighth career hat trick with three goals, as well as an assist, in the Pirates' 5-1 win at UNC Pembroke on Saturday.
The 23 goals scored this season by Burton ties her single-season AASU mark and is tied for the third-most in PBC history. She currently ranks fifth nationally in points per game (3.29) and sixth in goals per game (1.35) and her 87 career goals are tied for 11th all-time in NCAA Division II history.
The Ocala, Fla., native has been named the league's Player of the Week four times this season and 13 times in her illustrious career.
Burton and the Pirates return to action on Thursday, October 29, with a 3:30 p.m. Peach Belt Conference match against Flagler in a "Kick for the Cure" contest at AT&T Field.
