Lady Pirates Finish 12th At Flagler College Slam

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Armstrong Atlantic State women's golf squad shot a final-round 335 on Tuesday to finish in 12th place at the Flagler College Slam, played at the World Golf Village's Slammer & Squire course in St. Augustine, Fla.
First-round leader Saint Leo shot a second-round 316 on Tuesday for a two-day 617 total, capturing the team title by five strokes over Embry-Riddle (622). Barry (623), Belmont Abbey (626) and Lynn (631) rounded out the top five. The Pirates (660) remained in 12th place after the final round of the 19-team field.
Sophomore Kim Knox carded the day's best round for the Pirates on Tuesday with an 80 to finish tied for 32nd individually with a 162 total. Junior Carrie George shot an 82 on Tuesday andalso finished tied for 32nd at 162. Freshman Kelly Pearce shot a final-round 85 andfinished tied for 45th with a 164 total.
Junior Sarah Johns shot an 88 on Tuesday to finish tied for 66th with a 172 total. Sophomore Victoria Benett rounded out the Lady Pirate scoring with a second-round 89, finishing tied for 72nd with a 174 total.
The Flagler College Slam wraps up the fall schedule for the Lady Pirates. AASU will return to competition in February.
