Lady Pirates 12th At Flagler College Slam


ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Armstrong Atlantic State women's golf team fired a first-round 325 and is tied for 12th at the Flagler College Slam on Monday, played at the World Golf Village's Slammer & Squire course in St. Augustine, Fla.

Saint Leo holds a six-stroke lead after firing a 301 on Monday over Belmont Abbey (307). Barry (308), Lynn (312) and Florida Tech (315) round out the top five in the 19-team field.

Freshman Kelly Pearce shot a first-round 79 on Monday and is tied for 27th individually to pace the Lady Pirates. Junior Carrie George shot an 80 and is tied for 32nd, while sophomore Kim Knox shot an 82 and is tied for 43rd.

Junior Sarah Johns is tied for 60th after a first-round 84 on Tuesday, while sophomore Victoria Bennett is tied for 65th after a first-round 85.

Play concludes in the Flagler College Slam with a single round of 18 holes beginning at 8:00 a.m.
