AASU Women's Basketball Coach Matt Schmidt Meets The Media

 SAVANNAH, Ga. (Sept. 9) - New head women's basketball coach Matt Schmidt met members of the Savannah media on Tuesday afternoon at a live press conference held in Armstrong Atlantic's University Hall. The conference was also streamed live over the web.

An archive of the web conference can be viewed by clicking <here>. Schmidt was joined at the press conference by assistant coach Veronica Black and members of the 2008-09 AASU women's basketball team.

Schmidt is the seventh women's basketball head coach in AASU history. He joined the Pirates from Northern Kentucky, where he served as an assistant coach over the last four seasons and helped lead the Norse to the 2007-08 NCAA Division II National Championship. He replaces Roger Hodge, who resigned in July to become an assistant coach at East Carolina University.
