Lacey Willis Named To PBC Preseason All-Conference Team

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Senior forward Lacey Willis was named to the Peach Belt Conference's preseason All-Conference women's basketball squad, announced today by league officials.
The Dublin, Ga., native is one of five members named to the squad in a vote of the league's Sports Information Directors. Willis was named to the PBC All-Tournament team after helping Armstrong Atlantic State make a run to the championship game last year. She was second on the team and 10th in the PBC in scoring with 13.9 points per game and also averaged 4.9 rebounds per outing.
In last year’s PBC Tournament, she upped that scoring avearge to 17.5 ppg and had one of the highlights of the tournament with her last-second shot to beat Clayton State 68-66 in the quarterfinals, a game in which she scored 26 points.
Dominique Huffin of GCSU, Meredith Legg of USC Aiken, Syretha Marble of North Georgia and Natalie Ray of UNC Pembroke join Willis on the preseason All-Conference squad.
The Lady Pirates open the 2008-09 season on Saturday, November 15, against Fairmont State in the Concord (W. Va.) Invitational.
