Baillie Temples Named PBC Softball Freshman of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State freshman third baseman Baillie Temples has been named the Peach Belt Conference's softball Freshman of the Week, announced today by league officials.
Temples hit .500 in six games for the Pirates, scoring five runs with a double and an RBI. The Midland, Ga., native had at least one hit in all six games, going 3-for-7 in a sweep at Francis Marion with two runs scored. She went 3-for-3 in the opener against Albany State with a double.
Temples also committed no errors in 23 chances at third base and stole two bases in three attempts. She currently ranks third on the squad and among the top 20 in the PBC in batting average at .333, and is tied for 10th in the PBC with six home runs.
She is the second AASU player to earn PBC Freshman of the Week honors this season, joining three-time honoree Emily Headrick. Temples and the Pirates wrap up the regular season with a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader at UNC Pembroke on Tuesday.
