Men's Tennis Earns ITA All-American Honors, No. 1 Final Ranking

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State men's tennis team is ranked No. 1 after the final team and individual rankings were released today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The two-time DII national champions also learend that three players have earned ITA All-America honors with the release of the rankings.
Senior Paul Bishop earns ITA All-American honors in both singles and doubles for the first time in his career. The Whitwell, England, native finished the year ranked No. 20 in singles and teamed with Mikk Irdoja to finish the year ranked No. 5 in doubles, earning the All-America nods.
Freshman Eudaldo Bonet finished the year ranked No. 2 in the nation in singles, earning the Barcelona, Spain, native ITA All-America singles honors. Irdoja, meanwhile, earns All-American doubles honors for the first time in his career.
Other year-end rankings for Pirate players include Irdoja ranking No. 27 in singles and junior Paul Fitzgerald checking in at No. 50 in singles. The duo of sophomores Tim Johannsen and Rafael Array finished the year ranked No. 11 in the nation in doubles.
