Pirates Remain 20th At NCAA Men's Golf Regional


FLORENCE, Ala. - The Armstrong Atlantic State men's golf team shot a second-round 307 and remains in 20th place at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional at the Robert Trent Jones Shoals Course in Florence, Ala., on Tuesday.

The Pirates have a two-day 615 total, with one round remaining in the regional. Lynn University shot a 287 on Tuesday to take a four-stroke lead with a 572 total, better than Barry (576) and host North Alabama (576). Nova Southeastern (584) and Columbus State (586) round out the top five.

Senior Chris Wolfe continues to lead the Pirates individually after a second-round 75 on Tuesday. The All-PBC honoree is tied for 30th individually with a three-over-par 147 total. Junior Jon Wingate shot a 77 on Tuesday and is tied for 85th place with a 155 total, while sophomore Parker Gordon shot a second straight 79 and is tied for 92nd place with a 158 total. Freshman Matthew Motes shot an 80 and is tied for 94th with a 159 total. Sophomore David Patterson rebounded from a first-round 87 with the day's second-best round, shooting a 76 on Tuesday to sit in 101st place with a 163 total.

Play concludes on Wednesday with a single round of 18 holes. The Pirates will tee off at 7:30 a.m. Central.
