AASU Basketball Meets The Media On Monday

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstong Atlantic State men's and women's basketball teams held their annual Media Luncheon this afternoon at the Sports Center, giving members of the Savannah media their first look at the 2008-09 Pirate squads.

Head men's basketball coach Jeff Burkhamer and senior guard Parker Hayden talked about the Pirates' upcoming season and squad, which features 11 newcomers. Meanwhile, new head women's basketball Matt Schmidt talked about the Lady Pirates' season, which features nine returnees from last season and four newcomers.

Both squads will give the public a chance to check out the 2008-09 Pirates on Wednesday when they host "Meet the Team" night at 6:30 p.m., immediately following the AASU vs. USC Aiken women's soccer match. "Meet the Team" night features free food and drinks for all fans, both teams will hold scrimmages and there will be a "Talent Show" for all fans to win prizes.
